Drive-Thru Records owners Richard and Stefanie Reines have applied for a $250,000 grant to help relaunch the label. To get the grant, they need 250 votes in 24 hours. I just voted, and they’re currently at 214. Help them out and vote! Click HERE, click support, and search “Drive Thru Records” (no hyphen), and then hit “vote”! Simple as that.

Koji was robbed in Louisiana. He lost his guitar and merchandise. He’s started a Kickstarter account to help recoup the cost.

“This week marks the beginning of what will be my life on the road in 2012. Last night, my crew and I were on our way to Texas to begin the tour when we stopped at a friend’s house in Louisiana. It was a good area right next to a school and we were assured it was a safe place to park. Regardless, we took precautions checking on the vehicle periodically and taking the valuables out. However, my merchandise and guitar didn’t make it into the house before all the vehicles in front of the house were broken into including ours. We are incredibly fortunate to be safe and in good health. There are things you can’t control when your on the road and everyone understands that there’s a certain amount of risk that comes with the touring lifestyle. Sometimes things happen. You have got to work through it. Luckily, I was able to recover some vinyl in an alley nearby, but otherwise I’m left with very little merch to make money with to sustain the tour. Worse yet, I’m without the necessary tool, my guitar, to perform my trade. In my music, I write about what it is to face yourself and to face the challenges at hand. You’ve got to take everything that comes your way and grow from it. My resolve to keep on working is stronger than ever, but I’ve come to a point where I need to ask for your help. The $3,000 goal will put a dent in our losses and will replace some of the stolen merch and equipment, but it’s only a start. Anything you can do—even if it’s not supporting this campaign, but sharing my music and mission with new ears—will help me go the distance.Thank you so much for your support in my moment of need. Friends, family and community are the only reasons I exist.”

About two years ago,

I created this blog, not knowing that it would go anywhere. I know I post these every once in a while, but I feel like they need to be said, so deal with it.

Anyways, two years ago, I decided to create “Fuck Yeah Pop-Punk”. I created it because pop-punk was something that I knew a lot about and loved, so I thought I could share my love and passion for this genre with a few other people.

Two years, 8,858 followers, and 5,733 likes later, we’re here. I cannot even believe where this blog has come and how you guys show your support through here, for us, and for this genre. The pop-punk community has always amazed me, since no matter what, there’s generally no drama. Kids at pop-punk shows are all just there to jump around and sing their hearts out and have a good time. There’s no bullshit. That’s what I’ve always loved about it.

I love how you guys get so excited when we post things about the bands you love, and the bands you’ve never heard about. I love that we can bring new music to you guys and help the starving artists of this community get more exposure. I love being the person who created that for you guys.

I know this is cheesy, and I know that you probably didn’t read this, but we want you to know that we here at Fuck Yeah Pop-Punk love you and without you, we would 100% not be doing this anymore. You’re the reason we keep on checking out bands, finding news, tour dates, interviews, and all that stuff. WE LOVE YOU.

Fuck Yeah Pop-Punk has reached 1300 likes on Facebook, and almost 6000 followers on Tumblr!
I just wanna say thank you guys SO much for supporting this blog and the Facebook page, whether you’ve been a follower since the beginning or whether you just clicked the follow or like button. It means so much to me that you guys and ladies are around to support pop-punk and music in general, and help out bands when they need it, and we need it. You guys are all so rad and I’m so ecstatic that you guys all care about what I have to say, enough to read this blog and check out some bands I think are rad and I think deserve more attention.
Anyways, sorry for the sappy post, but I just think I should let my followers know that I love them every once in a while, so, I love you, followers!
