“Gonna drown in the mess you make, Your self-inflicted hate. You turn your back on the friends you lose, When they don’t follow all your rules. But people are what they want to be; And not lemmings to the sea. Maybe it’s time that you looked at yourself, Stop blaming life on someone else.”
The song is called Lemmings. A New Hope is the Princess Leia song obviously. w0w
HOLY SHIT LOL. I was originally going to post A New Hope and wrote the title out, but then decided to change it to Lemmings.. and I guess I forgot to change the title. I am a huge big failure.

Yo bros who think I don't know New Found, let's clear some shit up.
-I know who NFG is.
-I've seen them 3 times
For god sakes, I run a fuckin' blog dedicated to them and Chad. (fuckyeahchadnfg.tumblr.com) <--selfish marketing;)
I hope it's cleared up. BUT REALLY follow that...and oh yeah props to Devin for running this even awesome-er blog!
So Handguns’ van broke down … AGAIN, and will cost about $1000 to fix. Since they’re a band, they don’t have money. Help them out by picking up a t-shirt or something. Also, head on over to http://betterdays.bigcartel.com and pick up “Anywhere But Home” on a 12” vinyl!
Handgun's van got fucked up again and broke so Jake wanted me to see if I could stop by and ask you to put up their merch link and say to buy shit to get them back on the road and ect.
it's gonna cost 1000 bucks and that they don't really have that so they'd appreciate if you could put up the merch link so they can get their shit back and tour hahah
Dude yes. I would post it if I could remember what Handguns’ merch store was and Google/Myspace/the internet wasn’t failing me right now.
THAT GUY THAT POSTED SOMETHING ABOUT "NEW FOUND GLORY" WHAT IS THIS MYSTICAL BAND?!!?!?! THEY MUST BE SUPER UNDERGROUND AND UNHEARD OF. ANYONE HAVE ANY LINKS TO THIER SUPER UNPOPULAR MYSPACE (cuz I luv myspace lul) SO I CAN CHECK OUT MORE OF THIER SUPER, AWESOME, UNDERGROUND, POP PUNK, SONGZ?!!??!!!?
Well, only because you insisted...
-They toured with some band Paramore? Over the summer...
-Apparently their guitarist is dating that crazy redhead from the band. Weird, huh?
I mean, you could just Google New Found Glory to learn more about them, duh...
OH TOTALLY. Right… that dude that’s dating that chick from Paramore.. OBVIOUSLY the only reason you should listen to this “New Found Glory” band….
I love your blog! Question, it's almost my boyfriends birthday and I want to make him a mixed c.d., one with only probably ten songs, what ten songswould you put on there?
Ummm… well I don’t know your boyfriend or you, so I’m not sure what you should put on it..
Put whatever your boyfriend likes on it I guess? I’m sorry I can’t help you more on this! You know your boyfriend better than I do! (But Coming Home [the album] by NFG has a lot of sappy love songs if you wanna try stuff off of that!)
1. Your mixtapes are fucking amazing.
2. I usually don't do promoting but I saw it said "recommend" so I thought I'd mention my friend's band Ghost I'm Gone.
They're a pop-punk band from Worcester, MA and you should totally check em out! They also have a tumblr if you're interested but I honestly don't know how often they update it haha http://ghostimgone.tumblr.com/
1. Thank you :) That means a lot! 2. I’ve actually posted about them before, they are a super rad band, I have their EP on my iTunes! Thanks though :)
Check out an interview with Soupy from The Wonder Years!
This interview was done by Kevin Spann over at http://www.bandrescue.com, a website you guys should all check out. This interview isn’t up on the site yet, but Kevin, being the awesome dude that he is, gave me permission to post it here first!
Kevin Spann Bandrescue.com- Hey man introduce yourself and tell us a bit about you.
Dan Campbell of The Wonder Years- My name is Dan Campbell. Most people call me Soupy. I like bikes, poetry, and my friends. I don’t like racism, homophobia or religion.
BR- How did the band get started?
Dan TWY- We just got bored and decided to get together and try writing a song.
BR- Where did the band’s name come from?
Dan TWY- It is arbitrary
BR- Give us the cliff notes of the bands history together.
Dan TWY - Wrote one song. - Got bored again and wrote a few more. - Released a demo/CD-R split - Released actual split with Bangarang. - Signed with No Sleep Records - Released full length. - Toured. - Released slew of EPs and Splits. - Toured. - Released another full length. - Touring.
BR- How did the band get hooked up with Hopeless Records?
Dan TWY- I guess they heard The Upsides and liked it. Eric emailed me and asked if they could come to our LA release show. We hung out for awhile, met a few more times and signed a deal!
BR- Tell us about the band amazing new album The Upsides.
Dan TWY- The Upsides is pop punk record. We call it realist pop punk because the lyrics are pretty straight forward and honest. The concept of the record is that, too often, we’re miserable about the state of our lives (the royal “we” not just the band) and somehow stay complacent in their misery. I decided that seemed ludicrous and realized that it’s only on you to find the better parts of your life and work towards being happy and that’s exactly what I recommend doing.
BR- I love your new album but I kind of miss the silliness and the heavier sound you had on Get Stoked on it. Why did you guys go softer for the Upsides and any chance we’ll hear anything more like Get Stoked on It in the future?
Dan TWY- Literally never. We went softer because we aren’t a hardcore band. We barely listen to hardcore and throwing in a bunch of heavy parts detracted from the songs and also gave the proverbial green light to the masses of people that think hardcore is about hurting people to go ahead and mosh as ignorantly as possible on every helpless younger kid at our shows. I want to alienate that part of our fan base. I don’t want them to listen to us anymore. I don’t want them to come to our shows and hurt people. I spent most of my teen years going to hardcore shows. I have a lot of respect for what a lot of people in hardcore have done for the scene and these dorks make a mockery out of it. We won’t be a part of that ever again. There are a ton of hardcore kids that come out to our shows and act like adults and I thank them for that and for showing us that songs don’t need breakdowns for people into hardcore to appreciate them.
BR- How much are you looking forward to the upcoming tour?
Dan TWY- I’m very very excited to play with New Found Glory and Lemuria for the next few weeks. Both of them are among my favorite band and I’m excited to watch them play every night!
BR- Who are some of the band’s biggest influences?
Dan TWY- I guess the biggest three are New Found Glory, Motion City Soundtrack and Saves the Day but there are a ton of others like Latterman, Fairweather, The Anniversary, etc.
BR- What can we expect from the band in the near future?
Dan TWY- We’ll be on tour up through mid November and then we’ll be writing a new full length to hopefully have out by next summer! I’m really excited about it.
BR- Finally lets end on a light note Nsync or Backstreet Boys?
Dan TWY- I think I have to go Backstreet Boys out of pity. Nick Carter played a set in a !@#$% bar in our hometown last week. They need a quick pat on the back right now. Timberlake is still cranking out hits. He can live without our nod.
I’d like to think Dan for taking the time to answer these questions for me and their manager Craig for making this possible.
